About
Valleywood Junior Golf Programs include a Junior Season Pass, junior lessons, summer clinics, group junior lessons, private junior lessons, and an etiquette seminar. Juniors can play 9 or 18 holes of golf, use two practice greens to work on putting stroke and short game, and use a practice range to work on particular parts of their game or if they are not quite ready for a full round. The program also participates in the Youth on Course program, which offers specific green fee rates for juniors.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Junior Season Pass is valid for golf anytime Monday–Thursday and after 3:00pm on weekends and holidays; Youth on Course members can play after 11am on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
• Price: Junior Season Pass costs $450.00 plus tax; Youth on Course membership is $30 annually, with green fees of $3 for 9 holes and $5 for 18 holes throughout the week at Valleywood.
All junior lessons in Valleywood Junior Golf Programs are taught by PGA and LPGA professionals. The Junior Season Pass is limited to a maximum of 75 junior pass holders, and once 75 passes have been sold for the year, no other junior season passes are sold. Apple Valley residents can register online for a Junior Season Pass beginning March 1 and have until April 30 to purchase a season pass with priority, while non-residents can register beginning March 1 and are entered into a lottery on May 1, with any green fees paid before purchasing a pass subtracted from the purchase price if they are drawn. Junior Season Pass holders must attend an etiquette seminar and receive a season pass card with their picture on it.
Valleywood Junior Golf Programs are led by Jim Zinck, PGA General Manager, and Jordan Johnson, Clubhouse Coordinator. Valleywood is a proud participating member of the national Youth on Course program, and Youth on Course members must play with a paid adult age 21 or over at Valleywood. Youth on Course members can play for $5 or less at participating courses, including Valleywood. The stated mission is to invite the next generation of golfers to the course and to provide them a positive and comfortable setting in which to learn the lifelong game.
