About
Valleywood Junior Golf Programs offers junior golf programs that include group junior lessons, private junior lessons, and summer clinics. All junior lessons are taught by PGA and LPGA professionals, and Valleywood’s golf instruction is provided by certified PGA and LPGA instructors. Lessons can be customized to meet the needs of each junior golfer, with options for both introductory lessons and sessions focused on specific aspects of the game.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Lessons are offered individually or as a package in a clinic setting at various times throughout the season. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, Youth on Course members can play after 11am.
• Price: Juniors ages 6–18 can join Youth on Course for $30 annually and play at participating courses, including Valleywood, for $5 or less. At Valleywood, Youth on Course green fees are $3 for 9 holes and $5 for 18 holes throughout the week.
The program takes place at Valleywood Golf Course, which has forward tees at just over 4,900 yards, two practice greens for putting stroke and short game, and a practice range for those who want to work on particular parts of their game or who are not quite ready for a full round. Valleywood is a proud participating member of the national Youth on Course program, and Youth on Course members at Valleywood must play with a paid adult who is 21 or over. Personal motorized or electric carts, including golf carts, scooters, golf boards, golf cycles, and all other motorized vehicles not owned by Valleywood, are not allowed. Valleywood was named “MGA Member Club of the Year” for 2015. The program is led by Jim Zinck, PGA General Manager, and Jordan Johnson, Clubhouse Coordinator. Valleywood states that it invites the next generation of golfers to come out to the course and looks forward to providing them a positive and comfortable setting in which to learn the lifelong game.
