About
Chaska Juniors Volleyball Club offers volleyball teams for girls beginning in 4th grade, including Club Teams, Delayed Start Club Teams, and Rec Teams. Players take part in volleyball practices and tournaments, attend a mandatory officiating clinic, and may participate in player fundraising by selling pizza and/or taco kits through MN Table. Club Teams include coaching, jerseys, JVA membership, practices, and tournaments, and players on these teams are expected to prioritize volleyball over other sport commitments and attend all practices and tournaments, communicating conflicts to coaches in a timely manner.
• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: Club Team season runs from November to the end of April for 12’s teams and to mid-May for 13’s–15’s teams; Club Teams practice 1–2 times per week; for 2025, the 15’s and up tryout is on Sunday, November 9, with mandatory check-in from 4:30–5:00 PM, a parent meeting at 5:00 PM, a tryout session from 5:00–6:00 PM, and a mandatory officiating clinic from 6:15–8:00 PM
• Price: A $250 deposit is requested after a player accepts a roster spot; season costs vary by age class and may be paid in full or in 5 equal monthly installments from December through April, following the $250 November deposit
Chaska Juniors Volleyball Club prioritizes roster spots for athletes who live and attend school within the Eastern Carver County School District boundaries and attend or plan to attend Chaska High School (Level 1 Eligibility), followed by athletes from Chanhassen High School with Level 2 Eligibility, and then athletes who live outside the district boundary with Level 3 Eligibility. Club Team age divisions start at 11’s and up, and club teams generally strive to have 8 to 9 players, with 10 as the maximum, with a possibility that players 13’s and up could be cut due to limited rosters. From the 15’s and up tryout, the club expects to roster two teams only, anticipates making a handful of player cuts, and expects team rosters to be full after the tryout, with team announcements planned by Wednesday, November 12 at 5:00 PM; by attending the tryout, players are committing to accepting the roster spot for the team they are placed on. Planned tournament schedules are posted by age group and level on the club’s website, including specific schedules for the 15-1 and 15-2 teams, and players who make a team are expected to attend all tournaments and fully commit to their team. Players on Club Teams are required to attend an officiating clinic hosted by Chaska Juniors, and tryout attendance and officiating clinic attendance are mandatory unless exceptions are approved by the Board before the tryout date. Delayed Start Club is for athletes with major weekend conflicts in January and February and begins weekend competition later in the season while still offering Club-level training and competition, while Rec Teams are for athletes who prefer a lower intensity level and lower-travel option during the winter season. Player-provided gear includes shoes, knee pads, a backpack, and a water bottle, and a player fundraising option via MN Table is presented as a way to help offset some of the season cost. Chaska Juniors has sent teams to AAU Nationals in prior years, and the board is open to registering teams depending on team level and parent support.
