Dakota County Parks Summer Camps offers a variety of themed programs that include activities such as fishing, wilderness survival, and mountain biking. Group sizes range from 12–24 participants. Programs are taught by park naturalists and contract instructors, who are described as experts in their field and who make learning about nature a hands-on experience.
• Ages: 4–15 years old
• Schedule: Registration opens Feb. 1, 2026 at 9 a.m.
Dakota County provides summer camp programs to youth ages 4–15. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If program cost is a barrier, financial options are available by contacting Dakota County Parks. Individual cancellations received more than 10 days before the course start date are 100 percent refundable, and there are no refunds on cancellations received 10 days or less before the course start date. Dakota County reserves the right to cancel courses due to inclement weather or low registration, and registration fees for courses cancelled by Dakota County are fully refunded. Course cancellations are posted on the Calendar of Events, and registered participants are notified of cancellations due to inclement weather or low registration. Founded in 1849, Dakota County was one of the original nine counties created by the Minnesota Territory Legislature.
