About

Lakes Volleyball Club offers a fall travel club volleyball season, an after-school volleyball program with weekday games, the Jr Ranger fall travel volleyball program, volleyball tryouts, volleyball practices, and Saturday volleyball playdates. The program also runs a Lakes club volleyball season and holds a monthly board meeting.

• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: The Jr Ranger fall league season runs from August through mid-October with evening practices held twice a week and five Saturday playdates; the Lakes Volleyball Club season for 12s and 13s runs from the first week of December through the end of March, and for divisions 14 through 18 runs from the first week of December through mid-April.

Lakes Volleyball Club states a mission to exceed the expectations of players and parents by providing a well-organized program with a highly qualified coaching staff and focused improvement targets for each age bracket. The program follows a systematic and consistent approach to teaching volleyball skills, techniques, and teamwork that builds each year of the program, with fundamental skills emphasized in the early age brackets (12s and 13s) and more complex skills added in later years. Lakes Volleyball Club works within the Junior Olympic Volleyball program and requires full dedication and commitment by players and parents in order to create competitive teams.

The Jr Ranger fall travel volleyball program serves incoming 7th and 8th grade boys and girls in the Forest Lake, MN area, requires tryouts, and forms teams to be as competitive as possible within each age group; participation involves a significant time and energy commitment and is intended for athletes looking to compete at a higher level. The Lakes club season serves 6th–12th grade athletes with some 5th grade participation on a more competitive level, with tryouts. For 12s and 13s, teams participate in 8 competition dates, hold 3–4 practices every two weeks, and include skill training days in their schedule. For 14s–18s, and for boys 16U and 18U teams, the program includes 10 competition dates and 2 practices each week during the season. The program states a vision to be a competitive volleyball program focused first on district 831 players while also drawing from the local area to round out teams at each age level, and it offers appropriate levels of play for different skill levels at every age bracket.

Lakes Volleyball Club develops its techniques in conjunction with the Forest Lake High School Volleyball program and utilizes school facilities, works with FLAAA, partners with community businesses and sponsors, and organizes fundraisers to reduce program fees to players. The program notes an ETS partnership with Lakes Volleyball. A Lakes Volleyball Club monthly board meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026, at 5:30 PM and is open for all to join.
