About
Camp Foley Environmental Education Center includes an Exploration Hike through the Minnesota woods where participants learn about the plants and birds that live at Camp Foley. Since 1970, students and adults from all over Minnesota have been coming to Camp Foley’s Environmental Education Center in Pine River to learn about the environment, conservation, and local wildlife in a natural setting. The program is available in the fall and the spring for overnight or day groups, and it is described as a field trip option for primary, middle, and high school students. Participants can witness the changing environment that comes with the spring and fall seasons, and students leave with new environmental skills and knowledge, new friendships, and a greater sense of self. The mission of Camp Foley Environmental Education Center states that nature is viewed as an essential part of a person’s learning process and an important part of developing compassionate, responsible, caring young people, and that the center is a place for youth to be immersed in nature and learn to respect and appreciate the natural world. Camp Foley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity.
