About

Districtwide Early Childhood Hub offers Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Pre-Kindergarten, and community partnerships such as early childhood mental health. The program unites Pre-K, ECFE, Special Education, and mental health partnerships in one place and is guided by collaborative efforts between the Office of Teaching and Learning, the Pre-K Program, Early Childhood Family Education, and Early Childhood Special Education.

• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Program hours are 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., with drop-off between 9:15–9:30 a.m. and pick-up between 3:50–4:00 p.m.

The program offers a continuum of child-focused services aligned to meet the unique needs of every child and family from birth through age 5. Expertly trained staff provide specialized family support from birth to age 5, and special education services are available for students attending Pre-K and ECFE classes. Pre-Kindergarten provides an academically rigorous early childhood education aligned with the district’s K–12 standards-based instructional model. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) strengthens families through education and support of all parents to provide the best possible environment for the healthy growth and development of their children. The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) 3–5 year old program provides services for children aged 3–5 who have qualified for special education services until Kindergarten, with specialized services available in half and full day ECSE classrooms, and an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is created with the family to support student needs in ECSE.

The Districtwide Early Childhood Hub is committed to supporting children and families throughout Saint Paul from birth to kindergarten. Programs give families opportunities to connect with peers and learn more about child development, and the hub offers a wide array of opportunities for families to come together in a community focused on learning and growing together while supporting the development of every child. Transportation is available district wide, and the enrollment pathway is Districtwide Early Childhood Hub followed by the family’s community elementary school. Students may be dropped off and picked up using the back entrance on Edmund Ave at Door 11, and if arrival is outside the designated times, the child will be waiting in the main office. Families are asked not to park in front of the school because that area is reserved for buses, and if a child usually rides the bus but will be a parent pick-up for the day, parents are instructed to call the clerk at 651-293-5200 to inform the school.
