Foundation Gymnastics offers gymnastics classes along with birthday parties, summer camps, and parents night out events. The program also offers a free trial class for new participants.

Foundation Gymnastics was founded by Mike Burns, who serves as Head Coach and Program Director. Mike Burns served as head coach of the University of Minnesota men's gymnastics team from 2005–2021 and led the University of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics program for 17 years until it was discontinued. He now leads the Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics GymACT program, which provides high-level training and competitive opportunities for college-age gymnasts. Under his leadership, the University of Minnesota Gophers men’s gymnastics program built upon its legacy of 21 Big Ten Conference titles and achieved a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships in 2021, producing 19 individual NCAA champions, dozens of All-Americans, and two U.S. Olympians.
The mission of Foundation Gymnastics is to build on Minnesota's gymnastics tradition using Mike Burns’ decades of high-level coaching experience as the base of the club. The program states that the same championship-caliber instruction and training philosophy that developed collegiate All-Americans and Olympic athletes will be adapted and used at every level of the program. It states that every class at Foundation Gymnastics will be led with coaching expertise from the highest levels of collegiate competition, with instruction tailored to each gymnast’s development stage and goals.
Foundation Gymnastics supports the Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics GymACT program and gives youth in the community access to gymnastics skills. According to a parent testimonial from Tara Jonker, two of her children attend gymnastics at Foundation Gymnastics, and her family has found the staff and coaches warm and welcoming. In the same testimonial, she notes that the lead coach Mike has worked hard to help their family feel at home in the gym, that the space is beautiful, and that her children have enjoyed watching the U of M Men's Gymnastics Team practice during their classes.
