About
Summer Dance Intensive includes daily classes in Musical Theatre Jazz, Classic Jazz Technique, Ballet, Leaps & Turns, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 3:30 on July 13–17 and July 20–24. Students may register for one or both weeks, and participation in the Collide Showcase requires registration for both weeks.
• Ages: 12–18 years old
• Schedule: Two one-week sessions in July, Monday–Friday, with full-day programming and options to attend 1–2 weeks
• Price: Costs listed below include a non-refundable $50 registration fee. One week costs $575. Two weeks cost $1,050, or $945 for registrations completed by May 1, 2025. Payments made by credit card are subject to a credit card fee. Tuition is fully refundable only if the Summer Dance Intensive is canceled. Refunds exclude the $50 registration fee. Up to 4 weeks before the program starts, families may receive a 90% refund; less than 4 weeks before the start, a 40% refund; once the program begins, there is a 0% refund. There is a 0% refund for registration fees, missed classes, or dismissal.
The program offers two levels for intermediate and advanced dancers ages 12 and up, with advanced placement based on a referral from a teacher or Collide company member or a 2-minute video submission. The Intensive ends with the Collide Showcase, and video is taken so dancers have a professional-grade copy for future auditions and submissions. Faculty includes Collide Company members, Collide Artistic Director Regina Peluso, and Master Class instructors, with leadership from Founding Executive Artistic Director Regina Peluso, Managing Director Noelle Bohaty, Development Director Jess Yates, and Grant Writer Patricia Peluso. The mission of the program is to improve technique and advance artistry in a positive and welcoming environment with one of the top dance companies in the Twin Cities. Activities are supported by a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant funded by the arts and cultural heritage fund, and Collide Theatrical has been described as “THE BEST-KEPT THEATER SECRET” by Twin Cities Live. Dancers are asked to bring leotards, tights, unitards, dance shorts, leggings, ballet shoes, jazz shoes, character shoes, sneakers, all-black dancewear for the performance, a notebook and pencil, and lunch from home.
