About

Saint Paul Ballet Youth and Children’s Programs include Parent & Me, Creative Dance, Dance Camps, Pre-Ballet, and Elementary Ballet. As students progress, the program offers Junior Level Classes, Middle Level Courses, and Upper Level Courses, along with Improvisation and Modern. The broader school also offers Boomer Ballet, Adult Fundamentals, and Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced classes.

• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes run throughout the week with office hours on Mondays 9:30am–12:00pm and 4:00pm–8:00pm, Tuesdays 4:00pm–7:30pm, Wednesdays 4:00pm–8:00pm, Thursdays 9:30am–12:00pm and 5:00pm–8:00pm, Fridays 9:30am–12:00pm and 5:00pm–7:30pm, and Saturdays 8:00am–2:00pm; Spring Break is April 4–12 with no classes except Adult classes at 9:00am and 10:30am on April 4.

Summer classes start June 15, with Summer 2026 offerings including Parent & Me for ages 2.5–5, Creative Dance for ages 4–5, Pre-Ballet for age 6, Elementary Ballet for ages 7–8, Junior Level Classes for ages 8–12, Middle Level Courses for ages 11–14 with placement required, and Upper Level Courses for ages 14–23 with placement required. Additional age-specific options include Boomer for ages 55 and better and Lifelong 40+. Online gift certificates are available in any amount, and St. Paul Ballet is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.

Elayna Waxse serves as Interim School Director and Teaching Artist and has held appointments at Minnesota Dance Theatre as Interim Artistic/School Director and at Threads Dance Company as Managing Director, and is currently on faculty at Carleton College and the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. She is a licensed mental health therapist and holds an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a background in developmental psychology. Teaching artist Alejandra Iannone was classically trained in the Cecchetti method, holds a B.F.A. in Dance Performance from the Fordham University/Ailey School, and is an ABT® Affiliate Instructor who completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive. Teaching artist Laura Greenwell trained in classical dance at Ballet Arts Minnesota and is an American Ballet Theatre® Certified Teacher. Saint Paul Ballet materials carry copyright from 2005–2025.
