Missoula Children’s Theatre Youth Series & Day Camps includes production classes and day camps such as The Frog Prince, The Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Disney’s Newsies Jr., Pure Imagination, Youth Shakespeare Trunk Show: The Tempest, The Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Disney’s The Lion King KIDS, and Spring break Day Camp King Arthur’s Quest. All children audition, are cast in a role, rehearse, and perform in the show.

• The Frog Prince — Grades K-3 · Mon, Tue & Wed, 4:00-5:30 PM · $225 · Classes: September 9-23, 2026. One informal, non-ticketed performance on Wednesday, September 23 at 5PM.
• The Missoula Children’s Theatre production of Disney’s Newsies Jr. — Grades 8-12 · Tue-Fri, 4:00-6:30 PM; M-F of the final week, 4:00-7:00 PM; additional class on Saturday, October 24 · $295 · Classes: September 24-November 1, 2026. Performances on Friday, October 30 at 7PM, Saturday, October 31 at 2PM and 5PM, and Sunday, November 1 at 2PM and 5PM.
• Pure Imagination — Grades K-12 · Tue-Fri, 4:00-6:00 PM; M-F of the final week, 4:00-6:30 PM; K-2nd grade students meet Tue, Thu & Fri; 3rd-12th grade students meet Wed, Thu & Fri · $295 · Classes: January 12-February 12, 2027. Performances on Friday, February 12, 2027 at 5PM and 7PM.
• Youth Shakespeare Trunk Show: The Tempest — Grades 8-12 · Tue, Thu & Fri, 4:00-6:30 PM; M-F of the final week, 4:00-7:00 PM · $225 · Classes: February 9-March 20, 2027. Performances on Friday, March 19 at 7PM and Saturday, March 20 at 7PM.

About the provider

In 1970, co-founders Jim Caron and Don Collins created MCT. The mission statement says the program is focused on empowering children and adults through theatre education and performance to develop lifelong skills while enriching communities worldwide through live productions. MCT visits nearly 1,100 communities around the world each year, including all 50 US states and 16 different countries.

All children audition, are cast in a role, rehearse, and perform in the show. Day Camp audition and casting take place on Monday. Production Classes: all children audition, are cast in a role, rehearse, and perform in the show. Children must be in grades K-12 for Spring Break Day Camp and currently in K-12 for Production Classes. Day Camp registration is done online or by contacting the Box Office. Limited number of partial scholarships are available for Production Classes. MCT is proud of its inclusive casting policies; all children are welcome.
