Missoula Children’s Theatre was created in 1970 by co-founders Jim Caron and Don Collins. Its mission is: “Empowering children and adults through theatre education and performance to develop lifelong skills while enriching communities worldwide through live productions.” The Red Truck Tour is described as the largest, most far-reaching and most important program of Missoula Children’s Theatre and is recognized as the world’s largest touring children’s theatre of its kind. MCT visits nearly 1,100 communities around the world each year, including all 50 US states and 16 different countries. One local guide described it as “a beautiful theatre with tons of camps, workshops, and performance opportunities for children and adults,” and a community in 108 Mile Ranch, BC, reported that many students and parents asked when MCT could come back again after a one-week rehearsal residency.
