Missoula Children’s Theatre was created in 1970 by co-founders Jim Caron and Don Collins. The organization’s mission is empowering children and adults through theatre education and performance to develop lifelong skills while enriching communities worldwide through live productions. MCT Inc. is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization.
MCT visits nearly 1,100 communities around the world each year, including all 50 U.S. states and 16 different countries, through programs such as the Red Truck Tour, which is recognized as the world’s largest touring children’s theatre of its kind and is described as the largest and most far-reaching program of the Missoula Children’s Theatre. One parent review describes MCT as “a beautiful theatre with tons of camps, workshops, and performance opportunities for children and adults.” Another testimonial notes that audiences were impressed with a student performance that had rehearsed for only one week and that many students and parents asked when MCT could return.
