Freehold Family YMCA Day Camp is ACA Accredited and has an allergy-aware facility and staff with a low camper-to-counselor ratio. Y staff receive extensive training in a variety of topics before each camp season and are First Aid and CPR certified, and the camp uses certified swim instructors and lifeguards. The camp offers a Role Model In Training Program for teen campers interested in becoming a summer camp counselor. The program partners with the CampDoc Electronic Health Record system to manage health forms, allergies, medications, and illness or injury tracking. Families are invited to a Family Orientation night where camp shirts and car tags are given out, medications can be dropped off, groups tour the camp, and staff are available for questions, and the camp also holds a Family Camp Pool Party and a Family Camp Hoedown. Financial assistance is available for School-Age and RMIT summer camp for those who demonstrate need. Campers are asked to wear closed toe shoes and pack water and a small snack for the Basketball Specialty Camp, and camp shirts and car tags are distributed at Family Orientation.

The Sports & Youth Enrichment Director for the program is Terrell Wilson. The YMCA of the Jersey Shore describes itself as a leading nonprofit organization that offers programs, services, and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, according to the unique needs of the communities it engages. The mission statement for the YMCA is: “We put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”
