About

YMCA of the Jersey Shore Youth Programs and Camps offers activities that include swim lessons, family swim, competitive swim, and adaptive programs in the water. Participants can also take part in low-impact exercise, chair yoga, aqua fitness, strength training, cycling, and group fitness. The program includes school-age programs, youth and adult sports, summer day camp, and outdoor experiences.

The YMCA of the Jersey Shore’s roots began in 1874 in Red Bank, and it has a 150-year history in the area. Its stated mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. In the last five years, it has provided $5M in financial assistance and program subsidies to those who need it most. During this time, more than 60,000 neighbors throughout the Jersey Shore have participated in Y memberships, and over 650 volunteers have donated their time. The organization reports that more than 3,400 children are nurtured daily in its preschool, school-age, before and after school care programs. Over 1,500 children have taken part in summer camp and outdoor experiences, and more than 6,100 children have learned to swim through its programs. Financial assistance and program subsidies are available for those who need it most, and youth and adult sports are offered for all ages. The Y offers adaptive aquatics programs, and Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey is a program of the Y serving vulnerable seniors.
