YMCA of the Jersey Shore Youth Programs

The YMCA of the Jersey Shore Youth Programs includes youth swimming, youth sports and enrichment programs, and youth programs in child care, education and leadership, swim, sports, play, and camps. Youth swimming includes private swim lessons for children 5 years and older and youth swim lessons for all ages, with progressive lessons taught by caring, skilled staff. Youth sports programs are listed for kindergartners through middle schoolers.

Programs

• Youth Swimming — Children 5 years and older for private swim lessons; all ages for youth swim lessons · Progressive swim lessons taught by caring, skilled staff in a positive environment. Kids learn at their own pace and progress when they have mastered the current level.
• Youth Sports & Enrichment Programs — Kindergartners through middle schoolers · Youth sports programs promote healthy kids, families and communities, with family involvement, healthy competition, participation over winning, and team building.
• Youth Programs — Programs in child care; education and leadership; swim, sports, and play; and camps that create safe, authentic, and positive relationships with well-trained and caring role models.

About the provider

The YMCA of the Jersey Shore's roots began in 1874 in Red Bank, and after 145 years it is a cause driven organization. Its mission statement is, "Strengthening community is our cause." The Y says it is the nation's #1 swim instructor, and its swim instructors are nationally certified with training in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.

Parents are encouraged to contribute time as volunteer coaches and team parents. Continuous swim lesson enrollment is available from September 2026 through June 2027. Programs may vary by branch.
