About

The Talent Lab offers dance classes that include Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Hip Hop, Leaps & Turns, Tap, Acro, and Contemporary/Lyrical. Classes are described as being for all ages, and students are placed into technique levels based on assessed ability rather than age. The program also includes an award-winning competitive dance team called the TTL Competition Team, which welcomes individuals of all skill levels and has specific requirements for auditions, contract signings, and required technique and elective classes such as Acro, Hip Hop, and Leaps & Turns.

• Ages: 3–18 years old

The Talent Lab is led by Owner Alyssa Anne Ross (Miss “Aly”) and Artistic Director Cathrine Wheeler. Miss Aly is a former competitive dancer at Dance Theater of New Jersey, trained under the ABT curriculum with instruction from Jaimie Bernstein, and she continued her dance career at Hofstra University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Dance Education and EdTPA certification. She has multiple nominations and winnings, including “Best Choreography” awards from National Youth Arts, Hofstra University, and the competitive dance world. Instructor Nina Sciré began dancing at age 3, trained competitively in ballet, contemporary, modern, tap, and jazz, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Michigan; she has choreographed for stage and film, worked with artists such as Al Blackstone, Judy Rice, Shannon Gillen, and Joshua Bergasse, worked in marketing and administrative roles at dance conventions and schools, and is a certified Pilates instructor.

The Talent Lab states that its mission is to foster a supportive and inclusive environment that caters to the individual needs of each dancer and performer, to create a fun and enjoyable experience for students, and to equip them with skills and preparation for the professional world. The studio notes that it prioritizes the technical growth of every performer. Team members on the TTL Competition Team are exposed to professional dance performances and see work from industry leaders. A Master Class with Radio City Rockette Courtney File-Lowe is offered on Thursday, December 18th.
