Founded in 2015, VSA Future Learning Center has more than eight years of success in academic enrichment and more than seven years of virtual teaching experience. The program uses a rigorously developed curriculum for students in grades 2–10 with over 10 class levels that build on each other, and it teaches students by level rather than by school grade. Classes are capped at 8–10 students, with intimate class sizes, individualized teacher attention, immediate feedback, and one-on-one conferences, and Teaching Assistants are present in every class to assist with technical issues.

The curriculum follows a Spiral Learning Method, where students continually use their skills as building blocks and review prior skills in an ongoing way, with regular check-ins and assessments so students see learning as an iterative and ongoing process. Lesson slides are paired with interactive games, quizzes, and polls to keep 100% of students participating, and students switch between activities and exercises to stay engaged. Early education teachers use fun songs, activities, and visually compelling slides, and younger students practice letter formation and writing on personal whiteboards and notebooks that teachers review through the screen.

VSA Future Learning Center states a vision of training well-rounded students with integrated knowledge and focuses on student-centered motivation. The program describes its mission as building new active learning models where students engage with new concepts, participate in group discussions, and build confidence in small-group settings, both virtually and in person. It emphasizes a growth mindset, stating that failure is viewed as an opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, and it focuses on creating confident students with critical problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, writing, math, and public speaking skills, as well as a firm grasp of mathematical concepts and data analysis.

The leadership team is headed by Dr. Julia Guo, the director and founder of VSA Future. Dr. Guo earned her Ph.D. in Biology from New York University, completed postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and conducted research at Merck and the Hospital for Special Surgery for eighteen years. The teaching staff consists of experienced, highly qualified teachers, and the extensively trained educators have each spent 5–19 years in the classroom.

VSA Future Learning Center reports that its students took home 102 awards in the 2026 Scholastic Writing Awards, with distinction in Poetry, Novel, Short Story, Critical Essay, Flash Fiction, Speculative Fiction, Journalism, and Personal Essay & Memoir. Scholars from the program have also won Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in the last two years. VSA students scored at or near 100% on English Language Arts on the NJSLA statewide tests in 2025, 2024, and 2023, and the program reports that more than 1,500 students have improved math, writing, and public speaking skills.
