Camp RISE includes science experiments, technology projects, engineering challenges, art projects, math games, and other hands-on projects. The program also offers music classes and yoga classes as part of its regular activities.

Camp RISE is a free STREAM-focused summer camp where CAMP RISE is Reading in Support of Education: Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STREAM). Children maintain and improve reading levels over the summer while learning about science and other STREAM-focused education plans, and free supplies are provided for hands-on projects throughout the week. Eligibility is limited to subsidized families with children ages 3–5, and there is a special classroom for bilingual students.
The Camp RISE program is led by experienced and highly trained educators. Millhill Child & Family Development was established in 1971 and has since been committed to serving Trenton’s children, youth, and families through programs that educate, empower, and transform. Since 1971 Millhill has been a nonprofit organization that serves children and families with education, counseling, and health services. The organization collaborates with local organizations, schools, and businesses to create a network of support that benefits the entire community.
Parents and community members describe Millhill as a safe haven for children and families in the urban community and a beacon of light providing guidance for social, emotional, and educational growth. They also state that Millhill has been a critical support to children and families in the Trenton community for one-half a century and is focused on improving the emotional and educational well-being of young people and their parents. One participant shares that knowing there is a place where they can truly call the people they meet a second family is very uplifting.
