Explore & More Camps and Classes include STEM activities, art activities, block building, and family math games. Children take part in specific projects such as the “Roll & Find” number recognition activity, tangram puzzles, pom pom pattern graphing, and “Money Melody Song Fun and Coin Identifying Puzzles.” Toddler Time is offered as a specialty class in addition to regular museum activities.
• Ages: 1–9 years old
• Schedule: Half-day camp offered on June 19, with additional class options such as a Toddler Time session scheduled for Sunday, June 27 from 9am–10am
• Price: Admission is $16 for adults and kids ages 1 and up, free for children under 1; Toddler Time costs $20 for 1 child and 1 guardian and includes museum admission, and members receive a 10% discount on camps
Explore & More Camps and Classes take place within a children’s museum that offers camps, classes, rental spaces for birthday parties and other gatherings, outreach initiatives, sensory-friendly events, nights just for grown-ups, and professional development opportunities. All activities within the Tinkering Tank, Art Studio, and Cooking Galley are included with the price of admission during museum hours, while specialty classes like Toddler Time require an additional fee. The museum offers sensory-friendly backpacks, in-museum universal changing tables, and sensory-friendly rooms, and adults seeking admission must be accompanied by a child. No outside food or drink is allowed inside the museum unless a child has food sensitivity or allergies.
Explore & More is licensed through the New York State Office of Child and Family Services as a child care center. Its mission is to provide best-in-class play experiences where children, families, and the community can explore, learn, and develop together. Explore & More has been a local leader in child-led and family-friendly play since 1994 and opened its current four-story location in 2019 after earlier locations in East Aurora and on Gleed Avenue. The organization is led by President & CEO Michelle Urbanczyk and a Board of Trustees that includes an executive committee, members at large, and ex-officio members.
Explore & More has an early partnership with the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation and offers outreach initiatives, sensory-friendly events, nights just for grown-ups, and professional development opportunities. It is 95% self-funded and hosts M&T Bank Fifth Friday Free Admission events that include special programming with multiple educational activities. Explore & More and its programs have received multiple recognitions, including being named the #5 children’s museum in the country in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Poll in 2026, Best Programming for Kids in 2025 by Buffalo Spree, and the #1 Place to Take Kids in and Around Buffalo in 2024 and 2025 by KidsOutAndAbout.com, along with several Best of 716 awards for family destinations, birthday parties, indoor attractions, and customer service.
