Country Knolls Preschool & Universal Pre-Kindergarten

Country Knolls Preschool & Universal Pre-Kindergarten offers children free play, arts and crafts, and swim lessons. The Universal Pre-K program is a full learning environment where children explore the worlds of science, math, language arts, and literature. The program uses a learning environment designed to attend to the emotional and educational needs of its students.

Country Knolls Preschool & Universal Pre-Kindergarten uses the phrase “Where Bookworms Have Two Legs.” The program offers online registration with payment by check or credit card. The mission of Country Knolls Preschool is for each child to reach their full potential in social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development, both as an individual and as a member of a group, while including time for children to choose their own experiences, enjoy free play, and take part in an active program.

The Executive Director and Founder, Susan Harney, also serves as Director. Susan graduated from Marist College with a Bachelor of Science degree and a paralegal certificate, later returning to college in 2010 to obtain a degree in early childhood education and the credentials necessary to be a preschool director. She also earned a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Ms. Meagan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Mercy College.

Susan and her family are active members of the Mahopac community. Her involvement has included serving as an executive member of the Austin Road PTO, being a member of SEPTO, coaching MSA Girls Lacrosse, leading Girl Scouts, and serving on the boards of the Mahopac Boys Lacrosse, Mahopac Girls Lacrosse, and Football Booster Clubs.
