Pine Grove Country Day School offers Infant, Wobbler, Toddler, Preschool, and Summer Camp programs, as well as Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Before and After Care programs. The program operates on both a school and corporate calendar, which allows a wide range of availability to the community.

Pine Grove Country Day School was founded by Mary Courtney in 1979 and has been serving the Putnam/Northern Westchester community for 40 years. It is a family run school now operated by Mary’s three children: Tom Courtney, Maryanne Courtney-LaRue, and Deb Courtney. Tom has many years of experience in Human Resources on Wall Street and has been working at Pine Grove since 2006. Maryanne has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialty in Literacy and has many years of classroom experience as a head teacher and reading specialist. Deb has a PhD in social services and Master’s Degrees in Psychology and Social Work, with a focus on child development, and has worked as a social worker and psychotherapist with children and families.

The programs at Pine Grove Country Day School are certified by the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and are Medication Administration Trained (MAT) certified. The school employs certified teachers and highly trained teaching assistants, and staff attend trainings regularly to use developmentally appropriate methods in the classroom. Mary has been recognized in the community with honors including Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Community Lifetime Achievement Award, and Best Day Care Center Award. Pine Grove was founded with the goal of creating a safe, nurturing, fun environment for children to feel loved, learn, and grow into their best selves.
