Bet Torah Youth & Teen Programs are part of a Conservative synagogue that describes itself as a progressive, egalitarian, participatory congregation committed to the principles of Conservative Judaism. The stated purpose is to help strengthen the bonds between members and God, the Jewish community, Israel, Jewish tradition, and the world in which they live. The congregation has over 600 families and describes itself as a warm and supportive community where families make lifelong friends and explore and participate in Jewish life. Bet Torah has interactive programs for preschoolers (and younger), youth and teens, teen programs, and a wide range of adult education opportunities, and it encourages participation in a daily minyan as a way of getting comfortable with prayer and fulfilling the mitzvah of participating in a minyan.
The Schleifer Learning Resource Center at Bet Torah’s Kulanu religious school serves students who need special assistance to access their Jewish education and feel comfortable in the synagogue and Bet Torah family, and it allows for all children to experience a b’nei mitzvah. Bet Torah offers a Jewish values-based pre-school experience at the Bet Torah Nursery School and continues to strive to offer Jewish education and experience at the Kulanu Learning Center. Bet Torah has a social action committee and a caring committee and states that it lives its values through social action through service to the local, national, and global community.
