About
Mount Kisco Child Care Center Programs include activities such as swimming, field trips, dance, martial arts, homework help, and time to socialize with friends and play games. Children also take part in art and music opportunities, hands-on STEM activities, gardening, cooking classes, and family dinner nights. The program uses the Creative Curriculum, which is a child-initiated curriculum, and offers extended hours for camp at no extra charge.
• Ages: 0–11 years old
• Schedule: Enrollment is open to infants starting at age 3 months, toddlers, and pre-school-age children in a 5 day a week program (Monday–Friday); teen and young adult volunteers commit to 6 consecutive weeks.
Mount Kisco Child Care Center Programs has been nurturing children and supporting working families for over 50 years. The teaching staff is made up of long-time professionals and experienced educators in child care and early learning, and there is an onsite social worker who offers family support and access to resources. The Executive Director is Dawn Meyerski, and the teen and young adult volunteer initiative is managed and coordinated by social worker Ruth Goodman and Jennifer Bancroft, with involvement information available from Meghan MacEnroe.
The program includes Feed Me Fresh, a seed-to-table nutrition education initiative that uses playground gardens and cooking classes based on seasonal offerings from the gardens, with input from nutritionists, teachers, chefs, and farmers. Hands-on STEM activities are integrated into this nutrition education. Progress and updates are available each day for families to support home and school continuity, and student volunteers have opportunities to work with all age groups through a vibrant and active volunteer initiative.
Mount Kisco Child Care Center Programs is a non-profit child care facility, licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and a participant of QualitystarsNY. The program is Breast Feeding Friendly and Asthma Friendly. Classrooms reflect the diversity of the community, and community members, churches, synagogues, and corporate volunteers are involved in the functioning of the center, which is also a member of the Westchester Child Care Council.
