Founded in 1999, Precious Kids Country Learning and Development Day Care Center has been caring for children and their needs for over 20 years and has been nurturing the children of its community since 1999. The facility is locally and family-owned, with very low staff turnover, and the director has been with the company for 20 years. All staff is CPR and first aid certified, and teachers are New York State certified and trained in CPR, ADE, and first aid. Classrooms are divided into age groups, and children advance according to their chronological and developmental levels.

The program’s stated mission is to offer developmentally appropriate curriculum and to enhance social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in young children. The program emphasizes that child-initiated and teacher-supported play is essential, that learning occurs in an inquiring, cooperative, nurturing atmosphere, and that students increase their knowledge through both self- and teacher-initiated experiences. The mission also states that learning takes place through the senses, that meaningful experiences with materials and other people come before abstract understanding, that respect and caring for oneself, others, the environment, and all life are necessary, and that childcare professionals should always maintain a sense of humor.
