About
Mountain High Adventure Camp Programs include activities such as camping, bicycling, mountain climbing (hiking), rock climbing, canoeing, sledding, snowshoeing, races, campfires, building snow sculptures and snow houses, treasure hunts, and feeding chickadees from participants’ hands. The program also offers visiting the Wild Wings program at Mendon to see eagles, hawks and other wild birds, geocaching, orienteering, exploring, making smores, kayaking, swimming, picnic lunches, games, crafts, disc golf, active games, hiking, a zipline, menu planning, shopping for food, rock climbing on Pitchoff Mountain, hiking up to Balanced Rocks on Pitchoff Mountain, a backcountry canoe trip on Follensby Clear Pond, canoeing Black Creek at Churchville Park, and paddling Irondequoit Creek.

• Schedule: February Break 2026 single-day programs run February 16–19 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM for ages 7–12, and Summer Sessions #1–#4 run in late June and July 2026 in 5-day or 6-day formats, including day camp with an overnight component in Sessions #1 and #2
• Price: February Break 2026 days cost $50.00 per day; Summer Session #1, #2, and #4 each cost $295.00, and Summer Session #3 costs $450.00
Mountain High Adventure Camp is celebrating 27 years of outdoor adventures in 2026. The Program Director is Harry M. Sauerhafer, an Adirondack Voyageur Guide with over 30 years of experience leading backpacking, canoeing, cave exploring, and mountain climbing trips, and over 30 years of experience working with kids through YMCA School Age Child Care programs and as a BSA Scoutmaster. He is certified in American Red Cross CPR and Wilderness First Aid. The program states that it uses the camp program to try and build an understanding and love of the outdoors in each participant. Only 9 spots are available each week for summer programs and only space for 9 kids per day in the February Break Programs. For the February Break Programs, families are asked to send children with a lunch, a mug for hot chocolate, a water bottle, and appropriate outdoor clothing such as hat, gloves, snowpants, and boots, and activities each day may include all or most of the listed options depending on the group and the weather. Snow house building and sleeping overnight are done when there is enough snow. Summer Session #1 includes an overnight from Thursday to Friday at Four Mile Creek State Park, Summer Session #2 includes canoeing Black Creek at Churchville Park and an overnight from Thursday to Friday at Green Lakes State Park near Syracuse, and Summer Session #3 is based at Wilmington Notch State Park near Whiteface Mountain Ski Center in the Adirondacks and includes activities on Pitchoff Mountain in Keene, New York and a backcountry canoe trip on Follensby Clear Pond.
