According to its mission statement, Snapology of Fairlawn offers year-round STEAM learning programs where instructors use fun, hands-on activities to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, and children explore robotics, coding, and design challenges using LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology. Programs are offered in schools, community facilities, homes, and community centers, and Snapology of Fairlawn is described as a Community STEM Education Program with programs at different locations throughout the community, including community centers, schools, and other public spaces. The program uses LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology for hands-on learning and brings instructional and educational toys, including LEGO bricks, robotics, computers, and more, to host programs, camps, and parties.
Snapology of Fairlawn offers a Discovery Center indoor play center with building toys and interactive play areas, along with regular creative play hours where kids can be dropped off or parents can stay and play at no charge. Kids 5 and older can explore the Discovery Center on their own, while younger children require a parent. Parents are not charged to play in the Discovery Center, and parents may drop kids off for creative play or stay with them.
Programs at Snapology of Fairlawn support children of all abilities, including gifted learners, traditional students, and those with special needs such as sensory sensitivities or autism spectrum considerations. The programs are based on research showing children learn best when actively designing, creating, and exploring. For Scout groups, Snapology of Fairlawn provides a dedicated Snapologist to teach as scouts work in pairs to promote team building, and Snapology patches are available at an additional cost for Scout programs. Girl Scout STEM badge-aligned programs are available, including options connected to Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Space Science, Inventor, and Digital Movie Master badges.
Families can use a mobile app to discover, book, and track classes, camps, and parties at Snapology of Fairlawn, and to get milestone updates and class photos. One parent testimonial states, “My three boys had a great time at their Snapology camp this week in Lakewood. The counselors were incredibly kind and helpfu!” (Michael Babcock). Another parent reports, “This was my son’s first camp experience and he absolutely loved it. The teachers were amazing and he was so excited to go back every day.” (Christin Chiles Masters). A third parent shares, “My son Andrew loved this camp. From building legos to jump on the trampoline, he loved each moment” (Liz Hutchings).
