Columbus Children’s Theatre is a theatre company that produces work for audiences of all ages, including year-round theatre education, professional-level productions featuring youth and adult performers, sensory-friendly performances, touring programs, and scenic design services. Its programming includes the Sandbox Series with brief, easily digestible theatre for ages 0–8, including Theatre for the Very Young productions with sensory play and immersion and adaptations of childhood stories, the Spotlight Series geared toward families and youth audiences, and the Professional Series featuring professional performers, designers, technicians, and advanced students on stages around town. Columbus Children’s Theatre also offers tuition assistance, subsidized tickets, outreach residencies, and workforce development opportunities, and is committed to anti-racism, equity, accessibility, and creating a space of safety, strength, and belonging for marginalized people.

Since 1963, Columbus Children’s Theatre (CCT) has been a cornerstone of youth arts education and performance in central Ohio and now serves more than 85,000 individuals each year through education, performance, and outreach in classrooms, rehearsal studios, libraries, and community centers, including cross-sector partnerships. CCT’s mission is to transform families through the power of the stage. A featured faculty member, Nick Cosgrove, has worked as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, and acting coach across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years and holds a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. One patron described CCT’s production of Ragtime as inspiring, noting that half the cast was tearing up at the end and that there was a standing ovation at the end of act one.
