Swimming Lessons offers swimming lessons taught by qualified swim lesson instructors. The program includes Parent and Infant swimming lessons, Pre-K swimming lessons, School Age swimming lessons, and Adult swimming lessons. All classes are 30 minutes.

Columbus Recreation and Parks Department offers affordable swimming lessons. Financial Assistance PLAY Scholarships are available to help cover $20 in fees. Parent and Infant swimming lessons are for ages 6 months to 3 years, Pre-K swimming lessons are for ages 3–5, School Age swimming lessons are for ages 6–14 years, and Adult swimming lessons are for ages 15 and older. The department states that its mission is, “We connect the people of our community through the power of nature, wellness and creativity.” It also states that its programs and services give residents a chance to improve physical and mental health, develop youth, focus on the environment, and make a positive economic impact on the city. On July 15, 1910, the City Recreation Department was established, and on Jan. 2, 1972, it merged with the Division of Forestry and Parks to become Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
