About

Liberty Camp for Kids includes activities such as re-enacting the Boston Tea Party, Washington crossing the Delaware, and the “Midnight Ride” of Paul Revere. The program also includes playing games like “British Dodge Ball,” making colonial crafts, interacting with historical re-enactors, and sitting in real Wigwams at Fort Dakota. Interactive theater is part of the camp, with dynamic performers ranging from enthusiastic teens to vibrant grandparents bringing each story to life.

• Ages: 6–12 years old

At Liberty Camp for Kids, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Revolutionary War, the Bill of Rights, and the Founding Fathers are presented through hands-on activities. The stated mission is that kids learn about the founding of the country by common men who had a vision. Children older than sixth grade are welcome to explore becoming a Teen Patriot. The camp is located at the Portage County Historical Society.
