Mt. Ashland Alpine Adventure Camps offers week-long day camps that include activities such as hiking, guided nature hikes with storytelling, scavenger hunts, wildlife observation, and games like Corn Hole, Disc Golf, Spray Bottle Tag, and Water Relay Races. Campers take part in projects and challenges such as building Fairy Forts and Gnome Homes, wildlife identification, survival skills training, rock painting, nature frames, insect gliders, Mentos in Coke experiments, sink or float challenges, learning about fire science, ice dyeing, Leave No Trace education, bird and tree identification, eco-art projects, fire starting and responsible fire use, shelter construction, bear hangs, water filtration, signaling for help, navigation skills with a compass, orienteering methods like triangulation, knot tying, tracking, basic first aid, and a final survival quest. Additional activities include using scientific tools to test water quality and pH, studying geology, conducting field experiments, creating volcanic eruptions, identifying plants, trees, fungi, and wildlife, tracking animals, forming hypotheses, taking measurements, journaling, art, games, navigating trails, decoding riddles, completing physical team challenges, searching for historic relics, investigating legends like Bigfoot, watercolor and painting, origami, nature-based crafts, natural dye-making, tie-dye, texture rubbings, nature journaling, poetry, story writing, sound mapping, shelter construction in the Siskiyou Explorers camp, navigation with a compass and map, running hands-on field experiments and observations, creating nature journals, and creating watercolor art.

Mt. Ashland Alpine Adventure Camps includes transportation for campers and offers weekly themes such as Wilderness Survival, Junior Scientists & Ecology, Mountain Mystery, Art in the Siskiyous, and Siskiyou Explorers, with each week incorporating hiking, games, nature, arts and crafts, exploration, and observation. The Siskiyou Explorers camp blends all four themes into one week, and the program is expanding to include two additional camp weeks in summer 2026.

The camps are part of the Mt. Ashland Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served the community since 1964 and states a mission of providing an outstanding alpine recreation experience for people of all ages and skill levels. The Mt. Ashland Summer Program Coordinator is Kolya Schubert. Mt. Ashland Association describes itself as an asset to the community and highlights employment opportunities and economic benefits through tourist spending that support other local businesses. One community member describes Mt. Ashland as one of the “precious gems” of southern Oregon and notes its role in outdoor recreation, employment, and tourist spending in the valley.
