The Crest is an educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to cultivate the integral connection between people and nature. The Crest is based at Willow-Witt Ranch and offers Nature Day Camps on a 445-acre property that includes volcanic geology, wetlands, an organic farm, quiet forests, hiking trails, and a turtle pond. The organic farm produces enough vegetables for every camper to take home two bags of fresh produce per week. Monument Days on Wednesdays are led by Friends of Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument interpretive rangers, and campers explore the Monument’s biodiversity and unique geology. Busing is provided to and from camp at three Rogue Valley locations in Medford, Talent, and Ashland, with specific morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off times. More than half of the 1,000 students who attended field trips and summer camp last year received scholarships and cost subsidies through donor support.

Campers are advised to come prepared to get dirty and dress in layers, including a shirt, shorts and/or long pants, good walking shoes or boots, a wide-brimmed hat or baseball cap, and sunscreen. They are asked to bring a backpack with a water bottle, sunscreen, sweatshirt or jacket, a full lunch preferably in zero-waste containers, a snack, a rain jacket if rain is forecast, and a change of clothes including extra socks.
