The Ashland Family YMCA Gymnastics & Ninja Challenge states that at the heart of the gymnastics program is the spirit of community and that the program emphasizes kindness and respect. The program description states that it is designed to introduce youth to the fundamentals of gymnastics in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment and that it aims to foster physical coordination, confidence, and social skills. The Ashland Family YMCA notes that its gymnastics program emphasizes community and that self esteem is built “one handstand at a time.”

Preschool gymnastics classes, including Busy Bees, Gym Explorers, Tumble Tots, and Kindergym, emphasize fun and exploration while introducing gymnastics skills and equipment, with Busy Bees as a parent participation class and Gym Explorers including both skill learning and open play. Recreation School Age Gymnastics offers beginning to advanced level gymnastics with the option to advance to team level classes or participate for fun, and Pro Rec is described as a non-competitive skill building class. The Competition Team explores advanced level gymnastics through competitions and travels all over the state of Oregon.

Instructor approval is required for Intermediates, Pro Rec, and Pre-Team classes, and Team Levels 2, 3, and 4–9 are tryout only. All cancellations must be emailed to [email protected] one week prior to the first of the month of the class, tuition is pro-rated as needed, there are no make-up classes, and tuition has been adjusted to reflect dates when classes are not held. April 24 is designated as the Spring Gymnastics Exhibition.
