About
Ashland Youth Baseball organizes spring baseball teams, summer baseball teams, and tournaments for students attending Ashland Middle School and Ashland High School. Springtime seventh- and eighth-grade teams compete against other Rogue Valley teams from March through May. Summertime teams include the Aviators (also known as “D2”) for students entering 8th, 9th, and 10th grades, and the Ashland Pilots, an American Legion A-level team for AHS varsity players.
• Ages: 12–16 years old
• Schedule: Spring teams play March through May; summer seasons run June through early August.
Ashland Youth Baseball (AYB) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that coordinates these spring and summer baseball teams, tournaments, and activities and raises funds to support the high school baseball program and improve Grizzly baseball facilities. AYB’s volunteer board members and coaches organize the springtime seventh- and eighth-grade teams, and AYB is in charge of the snack bar and concession stand at North Mountain Park. Outfield banner advertisers and donors help keep participation fees low, and AYB provides healthy character-building activities for Ashland youth.
The leadership team includes Deanna Oakley (president), Keri Pennell (vice president), Navarro Chandler (secretary), Jerrold Rountree (treasurer), Ron Albano, Ryan Oakley, Melanie Plisskin, Rich Rosenthal, Andrea Smith, and Emily Trivette. The organization’s materials note © 2020–2026 Ashland Youth Baseball, and the program’s website was developed and donated by Jim Teece and Project A to honor the life of Jeff Rhoden.
