About

Imagine That! is a Creative Arts Performance camp where children take part in dance, art, drama, and music. Campers choose their own characters, script themselves, write songs, choreograph dances, and design and build costumes and sets. Each camp includes a Talent Show and a final Show, as well as a shop where campers who are interested in marketing their artwork are invited to sell their creations.

• Ages: 7–13 years old
• Schedule: Talent Show on the first Friday of each camp from 2:30–3:30 p.m., and a Show at 6:30 p.m. on the second Friday.

Imagine That! was founded in 1993 by Lola Broomberg. It offers Creative Arts Performance camps for ages 7–13 and describes these camps as utterly unique because they offer a truly collaborative creative experience for children and staff. The program states that Imagine That! is unique because of the high level of respectful collaboration between teachers and campers, and that every person’s voice is equally important in the creation of the theatrical adventure. The mission of Imagine That! says there is magic in a group of children collaborating with each other and a crew of inspired teachers in creating a shared playful vision, and that limitations slip away as everyone spends time in this realm of possibility. The mission also states that Imagine That! restores faith in what is possible when people work together and treat each other well, and that the program wants children to come explore who they are and the possibilities for who they can become. It further states that at Imagine That! all children are supported and celebrated in their own uniqueness, and that selling creations in the post-show shop is a fun way for children to take their creative expertise seriously.
