About

Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Enrichment Classes & Activities include options such as Indoor Playground @ LORAC, Summer Camps, Community Events, Sports Leagues, and a Teen Lounge. Participants can also join activities like going hiking, kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding, playing tennis, and playing other sports.

The program is led by Jeff Munro, Director of Parks & Recreation; Jan Wirtz, Deputy Director of Recreation & Adult Services; Antonio Garcia, Deputy Director of Parks; Anthony Markey, LORAC Superintendent; and Recreation Supervisor Cydny Fletcher. Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation states a mission of serving the needs of all Lake Oswego City residents through a Scholarship Program and a dedication to social equity, with a focus on removing barriers to participation and increasing access to programs and recreational opportunities. The department notes that it promotes inclusion and equity for residents, including those who may experience disabilities or specific needs. Seasonal catalogs are used to share up-to-date information about classes and activities, special events, and camps. Lake Oswego residents receive priority placement in classes and activities and are informed right away if they are accepted into a class or placed on a wait list. Non-resident registrations are accepted and held on separate wait lists for about one week, then processed on a first registered basis. A Scholarship Program is available for residents who cannot afford typical program fees. Inclusion services such as inclusion support personnel are provided to Lake Oswego residents only, and reasonable accommodation requests can be made by anyone using City facilities, parks, and activities. The department holds CAPRA credentials.
