Children of the Sea Swim Lessons

Children of the Sea Swim Lessons offers Baby and Tot Levels for children ages 4 months to 35 months, Water Safety Levels for ages 3 years and older, and Stroke Levels for ages 3 years and older. It also offers Parent Baby, Parent Tot, Advanced Parent Tot, Water Safety 1, Water Safety 2, Water Safety (8 Years and Older), Water Safety 3, Stroke 1, and Stroke 2.

• Advanced Parent Tot — 30 months to 35 months · $81–$135 per month · Must have instructor permission. Must have taken a Parent Tot class. Must call or email to register for this class.
• Water Safety 1 — 3 years and older · $81–$135 per month · Be 3 years old.
• Water Safety 2 — 3 years and older · $81–$135 per month
• Water Safety (8 Years and Older) — 8 years and older · $87–$145 per month
• Water Safety 3 — $87–$145 per month
• Stroke 1 — $87–$145 per month

About the provider

The owner says she opened Children of the Sea in July 1996 in Portland, Oregon. The program says its goal is to teach children to swim in a fun filled safe environment that builds self-esteem and a feeling of accomplishment. Certified instructors teach the program, and staff are CPR and AED certified by the American Red Cross. Instructors are certified in the Children of the Sea Water Safety Program and trained in accordance to the USSA Code of Ethics.

Swim lessons are perpetual. Tuition is due at registration and prorated for the first month if starting mid-month. After that, tuition is due on the 1st of each month. There is a one-time $30 new family enrollment fee for all new families. Registration is online only. Waitlists have a max of 10 per class. 2026 holiday closures: November 26-27 for Thanksgiving; December 22, 2026 to January 3, 2027 for Winter Break.
