About
Central Oregon Community College Youth Camps offers a range of technology, finance, and cooking camps, including Minecraft Club, Make Your First Video Game, Minecraft Designers, ROBLOX Coders, Young Investors and Entrepreneurs, A.I. Designers and Developers, App Attack - Cloud Game Creators, Minecraft Modders, Python Programmers, and ROBLOX Club. Camp activities include building and customizing Minecraft worlds and maps, designing and coding video games and apps, collaborating and playing mini-games in Roblox, working with customized machine learning models, and coding with Python using web-based platforms. Additional camps focus on cooking and baking, such as From Sweet Treats to Savory Eats: Perfect Pies, Incredible Baking Classics: Quick Cakes, and Italian Dinners, where participants prepare items like pies, Orange Olive Oil Cake, Carrot Cake, Hummingbird Cake, homemade pasta, Italian ravioli and calzones, and Italian-themed dinners from start to finish.

• Schedule: Camps are offered on specific dates and times, including single-day, two-day, and multi-week sessions, with some camps meeting in the morning and others in the afternoon; certain cooking camps are one- or two-day sessions, and several technology camps run on set weekday schedules over multiple weeks.
The program works with Central Oregon Community College as a partner. Some camps have students working in pairs or teams, and some technology camps make student projects available on a password-protected Black Rocket website, with games that can be uploaded to the Black Rocket cloud arcade and played on mobile devices or computers. For specified cooking camps, the kitchen is not gluten or peanut free, and participants are asked to indicate known allergies in the checkout process. Certain Minecraft camps require the Java version of Minecraft, some camps are compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems only, returning students can create more advanced projects in certain camps, Youth Camp: Young Investors and Entrepreneurs includes a mock Shark Tank-style activity, Youth Camp: Minecraft Club is part of a Creator Corps Community of Minecraft players, and Youth Camp: ROBLOX Club is described as a safe and fun environment.
