YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Summer Day Camps include activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, sports, and team-building games. Campers take part in themed experiences like an escape room challenge, an Eye Spy Take-Home Mission, launching colorful explosions, The Great Goo Gauntlet, and taking home an environment-friendly plant. Other activities include creating popsicle stick Cars characters, an action-packed game of tag, dress as your favorite character day, family movie-themed events, a light the path obstacle course, Everyone’s Birthday Celebration, high-flying straw rockets, creating a handprint macaw, a penguin waddle relay, family nature walks and hunts, a kindness carnival, designing their own Terrible Towel, dress like your favorite Pittsburgh or local sports team day, Chalk Galaxy Art, the don’t drop the asteroid challenge, crafting mini torches, and a torch relay.

YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Summer Day Camps follow the mission that when school is out, the camps keep kids active, engaged, and learning all summer long. The program offers a wide variety of camp experiences for different ages and interests, including Traditional Summer Day Camp with a balance of active play, creative projects, and social growth, Discovery Camps with offerings that may include STEM, creative arts, performing arts, culinary skills, sports, and nature exploration, and an overnight camp at YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer. The camps are rooted in the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, and financial assistance is available for camp. During the Pride of Pittsburgh themed week, a family event brings everyone together to celebrate community, connection, and Pittsburgh pride.
