Olivet Boys & Girls Club Summer Camp and Summer Theatre Camp includes sunny days by the pool, hikes in the great outdoors, singing and dancing, museum visits filled with art and history, and trips to the ballpark. The program also includes time for resting, growing, and making memories.

Olivet Boys & Girls Club states that its mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as healthy, productive, caring, responsible citizens. The organization reports that its programs address youth issues of education support, after school programming, and mentoring, and that they promote Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Programs and services are available during non-school hours and during the summer at free or greatly reduced costs.
Olivet Boys & Girls Club reports that it was one of the original 50 organizations that banded together with similar youth groups from across the country to form what became Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and that for most of its history it had two units in two neighborhoods, Clinton Street and Mulberry Street, before expanding into several new areas of the city during the 1990s. The organization states that it serves over 3,000 youth annually and that its services target underserved youth from diverse communities within the City of Reading. It also reports a partnership with Habitat for Humanity in breaking ground on a Buttonwood Street home.
The Club is a chartered member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and reports being awarded $499,984 to launch the EMPOWER Resilience Initiative. Leadership roles include Rick Perez (CEO), Nicholas Philippides (COO), Jordan Rodriguez (Director of Programming), Emily DiBenedetto (Director of Finance), Ashley Rank (Blue Mountain Camp Summer Director), and Mark Cogland (Blue Mountain Camp Caretaker), along with additional administrative, development, programming, operations staff, and board members such as P. Sue Perrotty (Board Chair) and Angel Helm (Vice-Chair & Secretary).
A testimonial from Mr. Baba, Site Coordinator at Clinton Street, describes his experience as a former “Club Kid” who remembers dancing in the gym, playing tag at the Clinton Street Dance Party on Friday nights, and spending summers at the pool, including being one of the youngest members allowed in the deep end, and explains that these experiences guide his current role as a Site Coordinator.
