Brookings Ice Skating Association Youth Hockey offers youth hockey through the Brookings Rangers 2025-2026 Season League Program. The program includes Brookings Winter Classic tournaments and live streaming of Rangers varsity home games on YouTube. It also includes coaching for the Rangers and uses background screening for coaches, referees, and volunteers.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Price: Late Fees begin July 21st ($200). Background screening fee is charged to and paid for by SDAHA for coaches, state and local association volunteers.
The Brookings Ice Skating Association is a youth hockey program established entirely for the promotion of youth hockey in Brookings and the State of South Dakota. Coaches are required to complete USA Hockey Registration for coaching, submit a background check, and sign up for a CEP Online Course before meeting if needed. Brookings Ice Skating Association works under the affiliation of South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association, and all games will be played under USA Hockey Rules as modified by SD Hockey. BISA is a volunteer program governed by a local Board of Directors, and the 2025-26 Registration Coordinator is Lindsie Bell. Registration deadline is July 20th, 2025, for Squirts and above, and if families do not register by July 20th, they are not guaranteed a roster spot on a league level team. Any new player to BISA will not have late fees added to their registration, and registrations made after October 1st will not be eligible for the payment plan option. Must be birth year 2021 to register, and 2021’s will only be skating 1 day per week. All tournaments will be held at the Larson Ice Center in Brookings, SD, with guaranteed 3 games, and most will be 4, for tournaments.
