About

Brookings Public Library Kids' Activities include a monthly book club for kids in 4th or 5th grade, a teen puppeteers performance, and a puppeteer club for youth in grades 5–12. The teen puppeteers present an entertaining performance for kids and families. Monthly book club participants receive a copy of the book to keep after registering, and the same book is discussed on two different book club days so the book club can be offered on two different days to include more kids.

• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: Teen puppeteers show on March 10th at 7pm, with puppeteer club practices on March 9th and 10th at 6pm

The mission of the Brookings Public Library is to inspire curiosity and discovery, advance knowledge, and strengthen the Brookings community through diverse and inclusive collections, services, and programs. Books for the monthly book club are generously donated by the Friends of the Brookings Public Library. Brookings Public Library is a Lowe's Hometowns grant recipient. The leadership team includes Director Ashia Gustafson; Adult Services Librarian/Operations Supervisor Nita Gill; Office Manager Shane Andreasen; Technology Services Librarian/Programming Supervisor Nancy Swenson; Children's Services Coordinator Katherine Eberline; Community Services Coordinator Mikaela Neubauer; Circulation Manager Charles Stuart; Tech Services/Circ Assistant Grace Timmerman; Young Adult Coordinator Jenny Kluck; Interlibrary Loan/Outreach Coordinator Betsy Lenning; and Board of Trustees members Kathy Miller, Denise Hall, Moriah Flanagan, Allison Schmitt, and Mark Binkley.
