About
Kaufman County 4-H & Youth Development offers activities that include 4-H Stir & Stitch workshops, the 4-H Food & Nutrition Project, and Ag in the Classroom. Ag in the Classroom is a 4-H School Enrichment Program that is coordinated with school personnel and uses selected 4-H learning materials, along with some Texas Farm Bureau and Texas 4H Ag in the Classroom curriculum, as part of the school curriculum during school hours. Ag in the Classroom involves one or more sessions with activities led by 4-H Youth Development Program staff, volunteers, and teachers. The program is held at the Extension Office.

The program’s mission is to provide the citizens quality, relevant outreach and continuing educational programs. The leadership team includes Carrie Sharp, 4-H Coordinator, and Sarah Matranga, Family & Community Health (FCH) Agent. The program is coordinated with school personnel using selected 4-H learning materials as well as some Texas Farm Bureau and Texas 4H Ag in the Classroom curriculum as part of the school curriculum during school hours.
