About
Cheer Athletics Programs offer athletes the chance to take part in competitive All Star cheerleading along with elite cheer training. Participants practice cheerleading, dancing, tumbling, and stunting as part of the program’s activities. Training takes place within a structured cheer environment that focuses on these specific skills.
Cheer Athletics Programs are part of Cheer Athletics, which was founded in May 1994 and formed its first team in July 1995. The organization began franchising in 2013 and relocated its headquarters in 2023, marking three decades of growth from its beginning with only two athletes in a park. The leadership team includes co-founder and owner Angela Rogers, co-founder and owner Jody Melton, who designed “The Claw” cat’s paw print logo in April 1996, and co-owner Brad Habermel, who was introduced as a coach in 1996.
The stated mission of Cheer Athletics is to uplift, inspire, and foster a culture of joy through the power of cheerleading, guided by commitments to excellence, teamwork, and inclusivity. The mission also emphasizes building lifelong friendships and resilience, pushing boundaries in cheerleading, innovating and creating new standards, and promoting hard work, discipline, and respect on and off the mat. The organization describes a vision of spreading the energy of cheer globally and building strong, united communities, summarized in the phrase “make the world brighter—one eight count at a time.”
Cheer Athletics is described as the world’s largest All Star Cheer organization, with a global presence spanning 19 locations, including a flagship facility in Plano, Texas. It has earned numerous regional, national, and world championship titles, surpassing any other program in the country, and made history in 2004 by winning the first-ever All-Girl title at the first Cheerleading Worlds. It is presently described as the world’s premier training facility for All Star Cheer and Dance and operates with core values that include Cheer Excellence, Passionate Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, an Inclusive Environment, Resilient Spirit, Community Connection, and Fun-infused Success.
The organization highlights community involvement through its core value “Community Connection: Strengthening Global Bonds Through Cheer” and states that it aims to build strong, united communities through cheerleading. One parent testimonial describes Cheer Athletics as a place where “the Best of the Best are trained” and notes that many athletes travel long distances to train there. Another parent testimonial states that Cheer Athletics “has become our home away from home,” and describes coaches who believe in their child, work on both physical and mental care, and encourage athletes to be the best version of themselves.
