About
Abrakadoodle offers art classes for kids, summer art camps, holiday art camps, art parties, school art assemblies, art activity days, and other art events. The program brings art onsite to kids in schools and community sites through a mobile art program, and also offers activities in Abrakadoodle art studios for kids. Kids explore painting, sculpting, drawing, collage, paper and fabric art, mosaics, anime, studio art, and styles ranging from Pop Art to Pointillism using creative materials such as bamboo brushes, molding compounds, wire, and oil pastels.

Abrakadoodle was founded in 2002 and has inspired more than one million kids around the world. It delivers visual arts classes, camps, parties, and events to children in schools, community sites, and Abrakadoodle art studios, and brings its Academic Art Program to charter, private, and public schools where it becomes the school’s academic art program. Art lesson plans exceed national standards for visual arts education and embrace “process art,” in which kids explore art materials and the creative process of taking ideas from within and bringing them into existence. Through the Artist of Distinction Program, kids learn about classic artists such as Picasso and Rembrandt and contemporary artists such as Mort Solberg and Lisa Cherkasky, as well as the many different ways working artists are creative. Art lessons are described as helping children build cognitive skills including concept development, problem solving, language, history, measurement, critical thinking, fine motor development and many other skills that can contribute to school success.
Abrakadoodle provides well-trained teachers. It has been voted “Best Art Class to Inspire Your Child's Inner Picasso” and is named one of the 200 Top Global Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine. Abrakadoodle has programs in Greater Metro Houston, the southwest suburbs of Houston, Katy and West Houston, and in the northern suburbs of Dallas–Fort Worth and North Fort Worth.
Parents and educators report that children enjoy the art, that projects are developmentally appropriate, and that kids learn about artists and different mediums, with artwork often framed and displayed at home. Families and school partners describe the teachers as organized, the programs as hassle-free, and the finished art pieces as impressive. Testimonials note that kids look forward to classes, build relationships over the years, and that parents value the introduction to different artists and aspects of humanities. The Abrakadoodle mission is “to enhance the lives of children by creating an educationally rich learning environment that ignites their imaginations and leads them to discover their own unique creativities, talents and abilities.”
