Willow Lake KinderCare offers daily care with classrooms that include designated learning centers such as dramatic play and blocks in every classroom. Each classroom features a print-rich environment with carefully selected materials, written charts and labels, and children’s literature. The program includes Summer and Spring Break Care called Champ Camp, where kids explore hands-on activities, make new friends, and feel more confident each day.

Program availability at Willow Lake KinderCare includes Infant Daycare (limited availability), Toddler Daycare, Discovery Preschool, Preschool, Prekindergarten, and Before- and After-School options. Elementary schools bussed to include Sugarland Elementary School, Meadowland Elementary School, Potowmack Elementary School, and Countryside Elementary School. The program is now enrolling for spring and summer 2026 and offers a choice of full- or part-time care. Skilled teachers balance care, learning, and growth every day, and KinderCare uses assessments to track and measure learning and growing so they can meet children where they are. Classrooms are described as safe and healthy, with children engaged in learning experiences that meet them where they are socially and academically, and KinderCare keeps children safe, sound, and smiling from drop-off to pick-up. The program includes fun daily activities, passionate teachers, and great friends, and it helps children connect spoken words and print to develop early literacy and writing skills.
Center Director Katy Lynn Massa leads Willow Lake KinderCare. She holds a Master of Science in Special Education and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education from Radford University. She began her career as an elementary special education teacher before moving into leadership roles in Management and Talent Acquisition, and she joined KinderCare in 2024. Katy Lynn lives in the neighborhood and is described as a dedicated early childhood education leader who is passionate about serving the community she calls home, with a top priority of expanding access to high-quality early childhood education for local families and partnering with families in her community. The program’s stated mission is that experts designed the classrooms, activities, and lessons to help prepare children for success in school and beyond.
