The House Inc. was founded in 2005. The organization’s mission states that it is dedicated to creating opportunities for youth and communities through education, leadership, and service, and that its mission is to help more young people navigate through complex challenges ultimately enhancing their life outcomes. Key initiatives of The House Inc. include EmpowerMEnt, The HANGRY Truck, and Out-of-School time programs, which address the evolving needs and opportunities of modern teens as they converge for the future.

The leadership team includes Helen McCormick, Founder and President of The House, Inc., and Todd McCormick, Executive Director of The House, Inc. Todd McCormick holds an Executive Masters in Leadership from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. Helen McCormick is a recipient of the DC Working Women of The Year award, and former President Obama named her The White House Daily Champion of Change.

Through out-of-school initiatives in the Washington, DC region, The House Inc. fosters a community where athletes, artists, and innovators come together to drive change. The roof symbol used by The House Inc. represents a cover from the elements, a place of refuge offering a sense of security and belonging, a shield from harm or external dangers, and boundaries and upper limits of one’s aspirations or potential.
