Northern Virginia Sailing School

Northern Virginia Sailing School offers a Try Sail class, cruises, and the American Sailing 101 Basic Keel Boat course, along with specialized classes for all levels of sailing expertise. The program also offers ASA 102 Keelboat Sailing 2, ASA 103 Basic Coastal Cruising, and ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising, as well as classes for new sailboat owners on their own vessels. Certified sailors can rent Catalina 22 sailboats, and captains are available to take out groups.

Northern Virginia Sailing School has been operating at this location since 2010 and states that it offers quality sailing with quality instruction. The school uses Catalina 22 sailboats with outboard motors for introductory lessons and rentals, and a Hunter 31 with full navigation equipment and an inboard diesel motor for advanced courses. American Sailing classes are held entirely on the water, with all sails scheduled by appointment using an online scheduler, and classes are available throughout the week and weekend. The program focuses on quality education with limited class sizes and graduates sailors in American Sailing certifications, and Catalina 22s were entered into the American Sailing Hall of Fame in 1995. The school has a small crew of instructors with varied experience all over the world, and each instructor is committed to safety.
