The Marigold School of Early Learning is a preschool designed specifically for children 3–5 years of age. It is a journey inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning and is inspired by the founder's love of the Reggio Emilia Approach. The program embraces many aspects of the Reggio Emilia Approach and puts children first, viewing every child as an intelligent human being with unique perspectives. It focuses on play as the natural way to learn and recognizes that children communicate in multiple ways with other children. The Marigold Community was born from slowly gaining students and families, and children of three, four or five are welcome to join the journey. The mission of The Marigold School of Early Learning states that it is here for children to learn, grow, be supported and appropriately challenged, meeting their developmental, social and emotional needs.
Heidi is the teacher and founder of The Marigold School of Early Learning. The teacher has been a teacher for close to thirty years, with a strong background in Constructive and Constructivist training in both undergraduate and graduate school, and experience as an early childhood and elementary teacher. Marigold has been a part of Heidi's life for over a decade. Before starting the school, the founder worked in early learning programs in Vancouver and Portland.
