• Ages: 5–18 years old

Midwest Center for Movement is led by Michael Ellefson. Since opening its doors in 2003, the program has followed a mission that martial arts should empower people, not intimidate them. The gym is a We Defy Foundation Certified Academy and hosts the St. Croix Valley Grappling Games twice each year. Midwest Center for Movement is involved in community efforts that include local events, student sponsorships, charitable initiatives, and partnerships with organizations such as the We Defy Foundation, Mission 22, Operation Help, and local charity events and fundraisers, including grappling tournaments and community gatherings. The program offers a free trial class and a 4-Class Trial Pack with 50% savings and full access to programs, and it is open to both beginners and experienced practitioners. The training environment is described as calm, focused, structured, safe, and supportive, grounded in mutual respect, and it actively discourages macho posturing, intimidation, or aggressive attitudes while emphasizing awareness, accountability, and community responsibility on and off the mat.
