Saint Croix Scuba and Snorkeling – Youth Scuba & Mermaid Programs offers activities that include an Open Water Diver course, a one-session Discover Scuba class, a PADI Mermaid course, mermaiding, scuba training, recreational diving, and snorkeling vacation adventures. The Discover Scuba class is a one-session, 1.5-hour introduction to scuba that includes a poolside introduction and a 45-minute pool session for ages 10 and up. Additional activities connected with the program’s training and expertise include ice diving, public safety diving, underwater crime scene investigation, full face mask diving, dive tender operations, dry suit diving, and spearfishing.

Saint Croix Scuba and Snorkeling operates as a PADI Five Star Dive Center. The leadership team is headed by owner Terry Nooner, a PADI Master Instructor who became certified as a Scuba Instructor in the PADI system after attending the PADI College in San Diego, California in 1983. Key staff include PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers, PADI Instructors, Divemasters, Rescue Divers, a Public Safety Dive Instructor, a PADI Public Safety Diving Instructor, a Spearfishing Instructor and Trip Leader, retail sales specialists, and a travel specialist.
The program’s PADI Mermaid Instructor is Claire “Mermaid Echo,” who is described as an international award-winning mermaid performer and educator and a chosen member of the Official PADI Mermaid Team. Mermaiding in this program is described as having wellness benefits, artistic qualities, and magic.
Saint Croix Scuba and Snorkeling supports many regional public safety and resource management dive teams with training, equipment, and repairs. HOOAH Wisconsin sponsors veterans scuba training and basic gear through Saint Croix Scuba and Snorkeling, and the St. Croix EMS dive team was the only all-volunteer dive team to dive on the I-35 bridge collapse. Equipment available through the program includes wet suits, regulators, mask, fin, snorkel sets, BCDs, dive computers, scuba air fills, BCA avalanche pack air fills, and paintball air fills up to 3600 psi, with daily, weekend, and weekly rental prices offered for many items.
