Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) offers activities such as Summer Camps, arts and enrichment classes, fitness, sports, outdoor activities, aquatics, adapted recreation, chess club, and youth soccer and other youth sports instruction. The program also offers activities and events including a Black History Month Showcase, Icons & Inventors presentations, and book readings. MSCR also offers day trips for adults.

Madison School & Community Recreation has been serving Madison since 1926 and has offered a variety of programs for all ages since 1926. MSCR is a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District and is the public recreation provider for all Madison Metropolitan School District residents. Its stated mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals in the Madison Metropolitan School District and for the community by providing recreation and enrichment opportunities year-round that are accessible to all. The program states that it is a school and recreation district that values and celebrates diversity unequivocally, and that it stands by its immigrant participants, families and staff, its students and participants with disabilities and their families, and its trans participants, staff and families.
